You worked hard to get people to "like" your Facebook Page. Now follow these rules to make sure you they don't change their mind. 1) Use proper punctuation, grammar and spelling. You want to look professional, so don't type like you're writing a text. 2) Do not cause or get involved with any drama. Before you post something on your business page, ask your self, "Would I say this to my client in a face-to-face meeting?" if the answer is "no" then don't post it on Facebook. 3) Always be positive and nice when responding to fans on your page.
LinkedIn has proven to be a formidable opponent. I haven’t gotten any traction on my new company page, but my LinkedIn personal profile views have skyrocketed. Is this truly the problem with the way LinkedIn is set up or am I just not grasping how to use this network effectively? Only time will tell. If I were to ask those of you who have a marketing website how much you spent on it, the answers would range anywhere from zero dollars to tens of thousands of dollars. If I were to follow up that question by asking how well you feel your website has worked for you, you might expect that the more favorable responses would lie with the people that had spent the most money. Well, for those of you who are not looking to empty their bank accounts to start their online marketing, I’m happy to report that the money

I am sure that many of you would like to start, or improve, your online presence, so I thought it might be useful to share with you the origin of this blog and my Facebook page. A while ago I was having a conversation with my business partner about how the most enjoyable aspect of my job was sharing things I have learned about conducting business on the web with passionate people who were looking for a little guidance. Yesterday I talked about a chemistry teacher/entrepreneur who had decided that Facebook wasn't worth taking seriously, and turned that responsibility over to his younger partner. After seeing no results I advised him to try again, but this time take it seriously and do things correctly. I'm happy to report that he gained quite the following and found success that exceeded even his wildest expectations! Missed yesterday's post? Click here for the wrong way to utilize Facebook.
One of the best parts of my job is meeting entrepreneurs. A while ago, a chemistry teacher came to me asking for advice on how to generate customers for his new business. I advised him to use Facebook, but he told me that Facebook is "for kids" and he wasn't interested. He decided instead to turn over those responsibilities to his partner, who he said was more of a "Facebooking Type." Well, things didn't go as well as he'd hoped. I convinced him that he needed to take his social media campaign more seriously. Check back tomorrow to
Over the years, I've helped a lot of people build a website or use social media to attract customers. In that time I've seen people do things that help them find success, but I've also seen people do things that stand in the way of their goals. What better way to point out those different behaviors then with an adorable comic strip?!
