What You See May Not Be What They Get

Not so long ago, the vast majority of people on the web were using Internet Explorer on their Windows PC. But times have changed, and more and more people have discovered features, speed and stability that exist outside of Microsoft’s suite of products. That is why “Cross-Browser Compatibility” is an important lesson, and today’s ‪#‎WhatIsWednesday‬.

Your website may look and function vastly different in Internet Explorer than it does in Chrome, Firefox or Safari. Since we can no longer be confident that our audience is using the same browser, it’s important to double-check out site in a few different browsers to ensure that everything is being presented as intended.

Your website is cross browser compatible if it functions well in these different browsers. Try not to get to hung up on ensuring that your site is “pixel perfect” on each browser but make sure that the navigation, rotating banners and forms are all working well. These types of items are important for converting visitors into customers, and can often be broken in different browsers.
