5 Reasons to be Thankful for Online Marketing

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!  My family and I love Thanksgiving.  My kids love it because it kicks off the final countdown to the avalanche of presents they will soon receive.  My husband loves it because he gets to consume an obscene amount of his favorite foods.  I love it because it’s a day that reminds me to pause and think of what I’m thankful for in my life.  With that in mind, while you’re taking a break from preparing an epic feast, or watching an exciting football game, or pouring through the stack of ads for Black Friday, let’s think of five reasons we should be thankful for online marketing.

Unlike traditional marketing, the data collection and analysis available to online marketers is unprecedented.  All elements of an online marketing campaign can be tracked and tested. If something isn’t working you will know right away and have the ability to tweak it to get the results you need.

  1. Hyper-Focused Targeting

Need to target middle-aged moms in California or people in their twenties who like board-games?  You can do that.  Every single cent of your marketing budget will be spent on your targeted demographic.   Unlike a radio, print or television ad that you throw over the fence and hope that your targeted audience sees or hears it, your new online marketing ad will only be shown to your target.

Compared to traditional advertising, you can invest any kind of budget into an online marketing campaign and have it be effective.  I have helped people while spending as little as a dollar a day.  So if you are just starting out, it’s the perfect way to invest in that idea, without the risk of going into debt.

  1. The Reach

Internet marketing will allow you to overcome barriers of distance.  You can sell to anyone in any country.  This kind of reach was unheard of for people 20 years ago, when your only option for a country-wide marketing campaign was spending a huge amount with a national newspaper, or television network.

  1. The Payoff

Your business will change when you implement online marketing strategies.  The cost of customer acquisition will drop, you’ll gain more customers and be more profitable.  And the less you have to focus on finding your customers, the more you can focus on doing what you love!
